
The Discovery Center at the Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge provides a place for refuge volunteers to meet visitors and answer questions inside a modern facility. The Center includes a classroom/laboratory facility for the Discovery Environmental Education Program (DEEP).


Project manager Tracey McDonnell and Friends of Brazoria Refuges president Tommie Holt, along with members of the local chamber of commerce and refuge volunteers, share in the ribbon cutting ceremony for the grand opening of the Discovery Center.
Construction of the Discovery Center funded was by the US Fish and Wildlife Service in partnership with the Friends of Brazoria National Wildlife Refuges and the many contributors, including individuals, corporations and foundations.
