This 338-acre property was donated to the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service by The Dow Chemical Company in December, 2008. The property is covered by virgin hardwood riparian forest and is dissected north to south by Bastrop Bayou. It is bordered on the east by Old Angleton Road and on the south by State Highway 2004. The north and west boundaries are contiguous with additional hardwood forest.The Friends of Brazoria National Wildlife Refuges, in partnership with the USFWS, The Dow Chemical Company, and the Houston-Galveston Area Council, is developing an all-weather, ADA-compliant, six-foot-wide loop trail through the property for public use.
