Boats are allowed on Nicks, Salt, and Lost Lakes by way of the Intercoastal Waterway or Bastrop Bayou. Boats are not permitted to be launched from the Salt Lake Fishing Area parking lot. There are two boat ramps: one on the west bank of Bastrop Bayou, just off County Road 227-, and one off County Road 257 0n the refuge’s southeastern boundary. Kayaks and canoes can be launched from the Salt Lake Fishing area parking lot.
