We invite you to join the Friends of Brazoria Wildlife Refuge (FOBWR), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and participate in supporting—and enjoying—the Brazoria, San Bernard, and Big Boggy National WildlifeRefuges and Units. We raise funding through donations, grants, and gifts to help fund refuge projects, educational programs, and other activities. Members of FOBWR are dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly at our area refuges and within the community.

 Our Vision

The Friends is a dynamic organization of engaged members capable of supporting the needs of the Texas Mid-coast Refuge Complex by:
  • Advocating to protect  wildlife in its natural environment
  • Providing memorable experiences
  • Enhancing awareness of and connection to nature
  • Engagingthe public through:
Experiences in the uplands, waters, and marshes of the refuge
Environmental Education for children and adults
Enriching nature activities within the refuges
  • Rewarding volunteer opportunities
The Texas Mid-coast Refuge Complex staff work hard to maintain habitats for the wildlife that are permanent residents; those that migrate to Brazoria, San Bernard, Big Boggy National Wildlife Refuges and assorted Units and the thousands of birds that winter here. The refuge simply cannot do all this important work without our support. The Friends organization, people like you, provides that support on many levels. While we cannot replace refuge staff lost to budget cuts, nor can we change the level of federal funding, we do provide funds to help the refuges become a very efficient conservation enterprise. Challenges are growing and needs increasing, but we are developing and implementing programs to meet them.
