The Friends and the Texas Mid-coast National Wildlife Refuge Complex rely heavily on volunteers. No matter what your background, you can lend a hand. The annual Migration Celebration is successful due to the efforts of a hundred volunteers. Environmental Education Programs, wildlife monitoring, refuge trail maintanence, and public outreach programs are possible only through dedicated volunteers. - Discovery Environmental Education Program (DEEP) at Brazoria NWR
- Clean-up efforts at the refuges
- Promote public awareness of area refuges and wildlife
- Coordinate the annual Migration Celebration
- Host the biennial A Taste for Nature fundraiser for a designated refuge project
- Fundraise for refuge projects and programs, e.g., Cannan Bend project
- Raise funds for land acquisition
- Support the Birds of Prey School Programs
- Support the Sea Turtle Patrol program
- Public-use Construction projects at the refuges
